We had a wonderful four-day stay at São Paulo Boutique Guesthouse in Tavira Portugal. From start to finish, the service was exceptional. Monica, Dina, and Mario were incredibly friendly, attentive, and responsive - before our arrival and throughout our stay. We arrived early on an overseas flight and they went out of their way to make everything feel effortless and genuinely welcoming. The guesthouse itself has authentic charm - like a home away from home. Every detail adds to the cozy, relaxed atmosphere, making it easy to settle in and enjoy your time. Breakfast each morning was fantastic. They had fresh and delicious options each day. The location was perfect, just steps away from great restaurants and everything Tavira has to offer. We highly recommend staying at São Paulo Guesthouse if you’re visiting Tavira.

The São Paulo Boutique Hotel is well located in the centre of charming Tavira. It's a small hotel in a historic building with comfortable updated rooms, a good breakfast served either al fresco or in a living room overlooking a small square (depending on the weather). This charming boutique hotel is an absolute gem and comes with my highest recommendation. The room was not only lovely but beautifully decorated, so cozy and serene! The staff went above and beyond—exceptionally friendly, attentive, and always ready to assist with any request. The morning breakfast was amazing, offering a delicious variety of fresh, high-quality options in a quaint, welcoming atmosphere. The hotel’s location couldn’t be better; it’s perfectly situated within walking distance to fantastic restaurants, unique shops, and, of course, the scenic river walk. Additionally, it offers easy access to public transport, including bus, train, and ferry stations, making both local and long-distance travel a breeze. A true standout in every way!

Highly recommended

This is a wonderful property with just five rooms and a delightful courtyard where an excellent breakfast was served. The 18th century house, in the centre of Tavira and a short walk to the river has been restored and modernised but it retains all its original charm. Highly recommended.

This property is a B&B, has no business calling itself a “boutique hotel”. We checked into a quaint basic room, wherein the owner set himself up at a desk less than 5m outside our door. It felt like we were in our parents’ home & felt super uncomfortable speaking above a whisper. A romantic getaway without kids, was our hope, instead had odd people sitting 10m from our bed, able to hear everything. We checked out & went to an actual hotel. We were charged in full for both nights we booked there although it was NOT as advertised. Do not recommend unless you like B&Bs with no privacy. The doors were super low & my guy is 6’3”, expected multiple concussions had we remained.
