"My wife and I really enjoyed our stay at The Tranquil House Inn in Manteo while we explored the Outer Banks. The rooms and service were great, and the location right on the water in downtown Manteo was perfect. Manteo has a charming downtown that offers plenty of shops and attractions without feeling too touristy. We also really enjoyed the light breakfast offerings each morning and the staff were so friendly and helpful."

"The room was nice overall, with a clean interior and a very nice view. However, the shower pressure was poor, and the shower head was loose and leaking where it connected inside the wall. It also would not adjust properly through all of the available settings. The room also had enough space for a small two-person table, which would have been a nice addition for eating meals or having coffee in the morning. "They did a great job renovating the Tar Heel motel. Clean, comfortable rooms. Bring K-cups with you if you are a big coffee drinker and don’t pack heavy. This is the best of old school Outer Banks, reminds me of when my parents would take us to OBX in the 70’s staying at the Beacon."
