"I booked this room as a treat for a dear friend visiting from out of town, drawn in by the "exceptional" reviews and the great location. Unfortunately, the stay left us asking: exceptional for whom? The location truly is a highlight — but that's where the positives end. For the rate paid, we expected a comfortable, well-maintained room. What we got felt closer to a budget motel experience. The ventilation was noticeably poor, resulting in an unpleasant odor and condensation collecting on the windows. The water pressure was also disappointing — barely adequate for a basic shower. If you have modest expectations, you may not be bothered. But if you're booking this as a special occasion stay or expecting the quality the price point implies, look elsewhere. I wish someone had told me that before I booked."

"Overall, I would say it was comfortable stay and the location has easy access to freeway and to the beach. We did have issue with our toilet but it was taken care of on the same day."

"Room was very clean. Bed was extremely comfortable with lots of pillows and a great view. Only complaint was first night there was a screaming baby next-door that kept me up all night."

"The hotel is not in it's heyday, but it does have that incredible charm of being an historic hotel. If you want a unique experience and a real fun place to stay, its a nice place. The beach motif in every room which differs every time you stay. Parking is tight but manageable. I say pack light because there are a lot of stairs and walkways if you have a room away from the beach. And your front porch is the beach, so it is all worth it."

"Clean room, excellent ocean view. Our stay would have been perfect but for the construction going on at the next door property. I could excuse construction during the week, but we did not appreciate waking up on a Saturday morning to loud pounding noise."

"We booked a family room they doubled booked a gave our room away. I have a child with special needs and had to split my family up. The room they gave us was a full and had no room. The room was dated. Tile in the bathroom didn’t meet up to the wall a could see the concrete and dirt."
