It's a well maintained boutique hotel. The food is very tasty and the staff are very polite and helpful. We were upgraded with a huge family room with a mezzenine floor.

Review: Hotel Gokula Grand Turtle, Kovalam We stayed in a suite at Hotel Gokula Grand Turtle in Kovalam, and overall, it was a pleasant experience. The ambience was warm and inviting, the food was delicious, and the management and staff were thoroughly professional and courteous. A highlight of our stay was participating in the Onam Sadya—it truly felt like celebrating Onam away from home, filled with warmth and tradition. I would especially like to mention a few team members who made our stay memorable: The front desk team – for the warm welcome and helpful introduction. The room attendants – for being exceptionally efficient, attentive, and caring. The General Manager and his colleagues – for their personal attention, with a special mention for their active involvement in organizing the Onam Sadya. The restaurant team – for their excellent service and genuine hospitality. Excellent value for money – the overall experience, from the suite to the service and dining, far exceeded our expectations and offered a truly premium experience. If I were to offer one constructive suggestion, it would be to give the property a slight facelift—a little maintenance upkeep would go a long way in enhancing the overall guest experience. That said, the natural surroundings more than make up for it. You can easily spend hours listening to the waves, watching fishermen at work, or enjoying tourist boats gliding across the sea. This property is definitely not a five star one. The amenities were old and very mediocre. The rooms were spacious but the whole corridor was slippery from water falling from the roof! They moved us to new rooms ; no water issues; but there was no doors to our shower! And there was some construction happening every day in the morning right above us for hours. Unless, we complained, it never stopped. The food was average and I don’t want to talk about the pool at all. The only positive thing in this property is its staff. They are the real five stars. Starting from the reception staff to housekeeping to the staff at the restaurant, they were all excellent. We will never go back ! It was a huge disappointment and we spend most of the inside our rooms reading!!!

Had a wonderful 1 night stay in gokulam grand in kovalam. Staff were very kind and welcoming. Service was fantastic. Our room was very clean and well maintained. My only criticism is that the activity room could be maintained better. Only the table tennis, foosball and pool table were somewhat usable. The tv didn't work, no proper board games and AC didnt work either.

Had an amazing experience. The sea facing duplex room that we opted for had splendid views. The staff members were very helpful and displayed professionalism right from the check in time. Highly recommended property to relax and rejuvenate.

We were upgraded to the Honeymoon suite. Awesome view. Plenty of choices at the buffets. Short hike up hill to hotel, but you there are shops along the way.

Pool needs to be really improved, a lot of updates can be done, for example bath tub had scratches/peeling paint on them. Access to beach from hotel would be a plus.

Good hotel near Lighthouse beach.

Our room at the Turtle was spacious, good and clean with a huge terrace with sea views. The pool area could have been cleaner and there was a shortage of sun beds and brollies. It was very easy to get to the beach by either hotel car or a tuk tuk was only INR 100. We spent most of our time on Lighthouse beach as at the left end, looking out to sea, there was an amazing snorkelling spot. Brilliant.

A couple of years ago we stayed at the gokulam resort in kumarakom, and had a great experience and so we booked this gokulam for a stay with extended family going off that experience, however this was not even close, this definitely does not classify as a 5 star resort, during our 2 day stay the AC constantly turned off in all our rooms and lead to water pooling on the floors, they had one small pool with no beach access and it does not qualify as an infinity pool as seen in pictures, a restaurant which was at best mediocre let alone a 5 star experience. Overall the resort was pretty old and not modified or renovated in a long time. The worst of all was that since we were traveling for a while before we got there we had some laundry that needed done, the laundry bill after we got it back was 10k, I'm talking about maybe 25-30 pieces of clothing most of which were off a toddler and infant, they charged Rs.50 for washing a handkerchief and Rs.60 for a pair of socks, I mean can we be realistic who pays more for laundry that the actual price of an item. The staff did nothing to rectify this even when noted. Absolutely disappointed by this experience and needless to say we won't be returning or recommending to anyone.

We stayed for couple of days. There was a construction going on at the hotel, and they continued it past 11 pm. This was even after multiple guests made several requests and complaints. One of our neighboring guests, a senior folks were really uncomfortable with the noise, but rather than being understanding and halting the work, the staff manager was laughing. We were really surprised with the attitude. For a hotel, one would think that the guest’s comfort is of utmost importance. This place definitely belies that understanding. Food is strictly average. It was such a disappointment. We will never stay again.

Wonderful stay

A very warm welcome received from exceptionally friendly staff. Service was impeccable at all times. My daughter unfortunately broke a glass during our stay and within a couple of minutes of notifying reception, two members of staff came up to the room and cleared everything up for us. All of the food we ate was promptly brought out and tasted delicious. On our last evening, we had to hang around in reception until 1am in the morning waiting for our flight and George, the very kind man on reception came to ask us if we needed blankets so that we could have a sleep. All in all a very pleasant stay.

Disappointing facility

Rooms are run down and not very clean. Air conditioning is noisy. Staff are nice though and surrounding garden area is very pleasant.

Turtle on the beach stay was excellent with one exception I was expecting them to be right on the beach but there was a little walk to the beach. Hotel staff was very welcoming , highly recommend turtle on the beach.

Neat Little Resort right on Kovalam Beach

I was travelling with my elderly parents & wanted to make sure that the resort we stayed in was relaxing, clean & spacious. Turtle on the Beach was an amazing resort..The staff was excellent, the room was huge & clean & the food was delicious. We had dinner & breakfast at their restaurant, overlooking the pool. Their location was excellent..next to Kovalam beach. In short, we really enjoyed our stay greatly! Would highly recommend it.

Two Blocks From the Beach

Nice hotel about 2 blocks walk from the beach. The hotel was comfortable and the food was good at the restaurant. The room air conditioner was strong and kept the room very cool 24/7.
