"Room was lovely, but really could do with some air-conditioning as it was unbearable to sleep in the heat, the fan supplied was pretty much useless. The staff were fantastic and made us feel welcome throughout.. The only downfall is we had children in the room above us who were constantly bouncing a football! Would I return again? Yes but there needs to be a stricter policy about children."

"Stayed at the Percy hotel whilst on business and have to say the room and facilities were excellent. One standout was the restaurant which I dined in on both evenings. Speciality is the steaks and the Tuesday steak offer where I had a 16oz rump which I gave to say was the best cut of meat I have had in a very longtime. "It was a lovely property with an interesting history. We visited in the middle of a heat wave and without any A/C and being unable to open the windows more than a few inches, the rooms were hot! A nice quiet fan was provided but it made the heat slightly less unbearable. Thank goodness for the pool! The staff were pleasant and helpful."

"Really nice old country style building, nice bar, gardens, close to the train town centre. Didn't eat but smelt good. Room comfortable and clean as new. Will definitely use again."

"Fairly new, smart comfortable rooms. Fan provided during hot weather. Tea, coffee, etc. Good sized room and bathroom. Overbath shower but decent shower. Breakfast was excellent. Dinner menu good and food reasonably priced. Only Doombar on draft for bitter but fine. Service friendly, helpful and prompt throughout. Recommended."

"We only stayed for one night but had a really lovely evening! The staff were very friendly, the pub/hotel have been recently refurbished and it's great. The rooms have everything you'd need, comfy bed, great shower, lovely lighting, loads of plugs! The bar and food was great. Overall really lovely and we'll stay again as we're often down to visit family."

We loved everything about it—the quaintness of the town, the cleanliness of the inn and our room, and the food and drinks at the pub (the veggie burger was amazing!). The list could go on. "Well cleaned and maintained hotel, lovely staff. Lovely bathroom and bedroom was stocked with amenities like hairdryer, iron. But no mini fridge?! Unusual. Also, no AC in the rooms made sleeping at night impossible in this heatwave, it was a sauna in there. A fan was provided but didnt make much difference. At least provide portable AC/ powerful fans."
