"Staff was amazing, rooms were clean quaint 2nd floor sitting area and breakfast each morning. Rooms have window AC units which are not the most ideal but everything else was great including location"

"This hotel is a must stay gem close to all the happenings in midtown, but on quieter, charming street! We received an upgrade to a king suite and it was absolutely phenomenal! Two bedrooms and a private balcony - completely unexpected and so special for a birthday trip! The staff is super friendly, entrance is private and intimate, with very friendly staff! Easy breakfast at the quaint restaurant next door. Would absolutely love to stay here again!! Thank you!"

"Such great hotel all around. Great location, I had a beautiful view from my 10th floor room. I traveled solo and felt very safe at the Civilian. Walking distance to Broadway shows, Central Park, Hell' Kitchen and Times Square! Staff was also so helpful and welcoming."

"The staff were amazing, attentive, polite and just wonderful. The room was clean, comfy bed and pillows. Bathroom and shower was great. And refreshing, especially since NYC was having a heat wave. Reception provided bottles or water, complimentary. The bar was fun, and service and food delicious. We had breakfast each morning and it was amazing. You must try the multigrain bread. Fabulous! Overall 5/5 and we will gladly stay here again on our next NYC trip."

"Staff is absolutely amazing! We got to the hotel at 9am when check in isn’t until 4pm. The amazing staff upgraded us for a small free to the most amazing terrace room, we ending up paying the upgrade fee for the entire stay because it was so nice. The staff from valet, door attendants, cafe and restaurant to elevator assistants are all so nice and helpful. I truly hope Hilton is taking care of them and paying them a good wage because they deserve it! The hotel is very safe, clean, and...

"We had a good time here -- the location and free breakfast was a draw as were the big rooms and comfy beds. The elevator situation made things very difficult for a lot of people at check in and check out though. It might be a deal breaker in fact unless you are flexible. We often took the stairs (7th floor...but the hotel has many stories) when we did not have luggage out of necessity. Very clean and quiet."

"The room was clean and comfortable. The door to the wardrobe in my room was broken so I didn't feel great about using it. The doors to the room are really heavy and when they close its really loud, especially in a quiet hallway. I don't mind getting up early, but being woken up by a slamming door kinda sucked. The staff seemed a little standoffish but maybe thats just midtown. The price definitely reflects the location more than anything else. The location was great."
