I am extremely disappointed with my stay at Days Hotel by Wyndham Toms River Jersey Shore. I chose this hotel specifically for the warm indoor pool. My kids and I drove over three hours to spend a relaxing weekend swimming. I even called ahead to confirm the pool was working and received an email confirmation the day of our trip stating "During your stay, enjoy our fitness center and guest laundry available 24 hours a day, our heated indoor pool which is currently open 8am-10pm."
When we checked in Friday evening, there was no indication of any issues related to the pool by the front desk staff. On Saturday morning, we arrived at the pool right at its 8 a.m. opening, only to find a sign on the pool door stating that the heater was broken. We tried to swim anyway, but the water was so cold it was impossible to enjoy.
When I asked the front desk staff about the broken pool, I was told it would not be fixed until later in the week. I feel like I wasted nearly $400 for a trip that ended up a total bust. Had we been informed about the broken pool earlier, we would have canceled and booked somewhere else. At the very least, staff should have told us when we checked in or when we chatted with them Saturday morning before we went to the pool so we could have planned alternative activities. Despite our obvious disappointment, the staff did not offer any apologies or solutions to help right this wrong.
Aside from the pool issue, the hotel itself was average and unremarkable.
