The location is excellent and the rooms themselves are modern and comfortable. A WiFi issue on arrival was addressed reasonably quickly, which I appreciated.
However, a few things left me disappointed:
1) Rigid cancellation policy: There was no flexibility whatsoever when an unexpected situation required an earlier departure. Even a credit toward a future stay—rather than a refund—was off the table. Most comparable properties offer at least some degree of discretion in genuine unforeseen circumstances, so this felt unnecessarily inflexible.
2) Questionable charge for a towel: After inquiring about leniency regarding the early departure, I was told I’d be charged $150 for a “stained” hand towel. That price is wildly out of proportion to the cost of replacing or laundering it. More importantly, the towel in question was already stained when I checked in—I simply hadn’t reported it because I was already dealing with the WiFi issue and discussing the change in travel plans. Charging guests for lightly stained linens is not standard practice in most hotels and doesn’t align with reasonable hospitality norms.
Overall, while the physical space is lovely, the service approach felt punitive rather than guest-oriented. It’s disappointing to see this trend becoming more common in the hospitality industry. I’m a respectful and low-maintenance traveler, but experiences like this make it harder not to speak up.
