Although the location was convenient and close to everything, that was about the only positive thing I can say about our stay. My boyfriend and I booked this suite thinking it would be private just for us but it turned out to be too good to be true for the price.
The check-in process was fairly simple, but communication with the host was a nightmare. I was told to call her once I landed, and when I did, she completely ignored my calls. Every time I tried to follow up, her excuse was, “I’m helping someone else check in.” This happened multiple times, and it became clear that she had no intention of keeping us updated or making us feel welcome.
To make matters worse, we discovered that we were sharing the suite with someone else. This was never clearly stated in the listing. We expected privacy, and instead, had to share common spaces with another person. Our bathroom wasn’t even connected to our room, so we had to walk through shared areas just to use it.
We considered switching to another hotel, but it was too late by the time we landed, and finding a last-minute alternative would’ve been a hassle. So we decided to just stick it out.
Another issue: we were charged for using extra towels. This was never clearly stated in the listing or fine print. When I brought this up, the manager brushed it off and told me, “Don’t argue over $20.” Whether it’s $2 or $20, it’s my money, and I have a right to question surprise charges especially ones that weren’t disclosed.
