Lovely place to stay, reception was very welcoming and the room was very clean. Comfortable beds and a nice size flat screen tv. Provided with shampoos conditioner and shower gel. Also teas and coffee. I will be returning! Thank you for our stay :)
Didn’t have breakfast so couldn’t comment on that. Plenty of parking on the outside of the hotel.
Free use of sauna jacuzzi and even out door swimming pool with garden.
The only thing was there seemed to be no where to get a bottle of water.
Very happy with our stay.
Booked for 4 nights, stayed for 2. Staff were scarcely available, lots of broken parts in our room that didnt get fixed or looked at despite us raising with the manager. Radiators that deapite being switched off, kept heating overnight and keeping the room at 30°c. Cold swimming pool and jacuzzi. Overall very disappointed - thought it would be a nice budget hotel but left after 2nights. Would NOT recommend.
Entry to room is by four digit passcode on electronic pads which are loud so you’re woken up all night by noise of people in and out their rooms . Place is unmanned at night ( that’s the reason you can only check in between 3-9) so other guests behave as they want to. Playing loud music in the communal area , drunken couples having arguments . Place is shabby and obviously hasn’t had any money or love put into it for years . Nowhere to hang your clothes . Cheap thin duvets. Exposed live extension leads . Shower makes a terrible noise which must wake the other guests up . The room was very clean however . Potentially beautiful building and gardens but all uncared for and unkempt . Maybe ok for young people for a night out in Torquay but definitely not for business traveller or a someone who wants peaceful stay .
Once past the tired exterior, we were greeted by Hassan (site manager). He was very friendly and patient when guiding all nine of us through how to use the coded doors. He genuinely couldn‘t do enough for us over our week‘s stay, from providing extra tea/coffee to giving advice on local attractions and places to go.
All five rooms booked were clean and comfortable. They had provided fans in every room before our arrival due to the current heat wave.
The two pools were fantastic. The outdoor pool was open for use from Monday morning. It was plenty big enough to enjoy, and we all took advantage of it every day of our stay.
Members of our family used the steam room, sauna, and pool table.
Although they only sell a select few drinks, they are happy for you to have your own and provide an ice machine, which came in handy whilst sitting on the balcony enjoying the outdoor space and chatting till late. Even the local fox gave a brief appearance.
Overall, we all had a great time and without a doubt we will be back next year.
The room served it's purpose in the sense that there was a bed and a shower but there was no breakfast at all despite saying that it was served on their website. Furthermore, there was no bar even though there was signs for a bar.
There was both an indoor and outside pool but the outside pool was closed and the indoor pool opened at 10am which is the time that you are going out to explore the area. Our bathroom door lock was a bit dodgy when you attempted to lock it on the inside, my partner had to let me out of the bathroom from the outside. Also there was not always staff around if you needed assistance. Even when we checked out at approximately 9AM on Saturday, the reception desk was closed. It was just as well that we had no room keys to return; the doors all have type in passcodes which was a benefit to the hotel. In addition, myself and partner could not get the shower to dispense warm water, luckily we were staying there during the June heat wave, so a colder shower temperature was a bit more bearable.
The staff were friendly and helpful and as stated above the room did serve it's purpose for somewhere to sleep but we would not stay there again unless we got a good deal.
Room was clean but needs upgrading, bathroom configuration very small / restrictive. Didnt use pool or sauna facilities, however games room needs improvement. Cues has no heads and missing pool balls.
Hotel.com offered breakfast, however was told no breakfast service at all by staff. Could be a brilliant venue with space and location but needs investment.
Friendly comfortable and I would recommend the hotel to friends The staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome and nothing was too much trouble
The suite was spacious with ample storage for clothing however there was not enough towels in the room. We requested for more towels and extra pillows three times during our stay however this was not provided to us despite the staff promising to bring them to our room.
The spa / swimming pool was poor, the jacuzzi didn’t work and the water in the swimming pool and jacuzzi was cold. The stream room was out of order and there was no lockers or towels in the spa area. Would not recommend if your intention is mainly to use the spa facilities.
The hotel was fine, really needs a bit of a renovation - so much potential but very outdated! The walls are paper thin we got woken up by the people next to us and couldn’t sleep for hours. Comfy bed, good location
