"The images that were shared in Expedia.com did not accurately portray the property and its amenities. The "gorgeous bar area" was dilapidated and out of use, there were limited food options available in the eating area, the carpeting in the hallway and rooms were very worn and not very clean. The beds themselves were clean and comfortable; the bathroom was extremely small and difficult to navigate. "Lovely location convenient to the ferry terminal and town centre. The host Caroline was very friendly and welcoming. Little extras left in the fridge were an added bonus and much appreciated."

"The staff were extremely slow when in the dining room. It took ages for them to serve drinks and meals. A wait of 45 minutes was normal and between courses. We stayed at Brander Lodge many years ago and sadly it’s not a patch on the standard and friendliness of the staff. Won’t be going back to this hotel. Wife was in the shower when water stopped flowing due demand of other bedrooms using showers for ten minutes."

Reported to reception who moved us to another room with a sauna, sauna did not work, horrendous noise from the kitchen fans and no sea view which we had upgraded to.
