"Property was very clean and updated. Our room was right beside reception though so could hear some noise but was quiet overnight. Good location just outside the Old City walls. There is no beach despite a reference to this on website."

"Awesome location in the Republic Square right next to docks, restaurants, shops and the Palace. Nice room, small but very clean and comfortable. Staff is great and price is very reasonable. Only downside is walking up the stairs to the rooms and parking (you don’t need a car!). "

"Excellent stay at the Splendida, thank you Maria & all the wonderful staff. We were greeted with a very warm welcome, an introduction to the cherry liqueur whilst being given tips to the local area! Maria kindly arranged a day trip to the Krka waterfalls & arranged a dinner reservation at an excellent fish restaurant. Breakfast was plentiful with excellent egg, crepe & omelette options. Absolutely worthy of its 5* rating, great location for the centre of Split. Would definitely recommend to...

"We can’t say enough nice things about this hotel! The location was perfect, just outside the Palace & close to the harbor & Riva. The manager was super helpful & kind, full of local knowledge & recommendations that were spot on. Breakfast was yummy & made to order. Last but not least - the view from our room was like a postcard! "

"I travel a lot and this was as good as it gets. We had to actually leave the lousy, dangerous apartment we were at in Dubrovnik and getting here was a treat. The staff took care of the luggage, the breakfast was great as was the dinners we had there. The staff was smart, spoke great english and thoughtful. Also they had blankets as well as duvets - and the air conditioning worked well. The location was right on the edge of old town - we park in a lot about 150 yards away and just "rolled"...

"Fifth floor walk up. 95 steps with luggage, fortunately we had little. Basically no windows, a small window opening to an air well full of pigeons. No alarm needed as the pigeons are up at dawn and coo loudly and nonstop for a couple hours. No shower door so showering floods the bathroom which is very dark. A single light about head height shines from the right. Left side of face in deep shadow so shaving, applying sunscreen or makeup is a challenge. It’s the only mirror in the unit. Contrary...
