The grounds are well maintained and we spend a few nights just hanging out while the kids were in the above ground pool. The pool isn’t great for swimming it it helped keep the kids cool. "Bananas on the beach was such a treat to stay at last week. Their whole front desk and staff were very sweet and were able to answer all questions. Upon arrival they took our bags to the room. The room itself was very clean and neat. The water pressure shower was amazing and the AC worked very well. The tv in the room is a smart tv and you are able to stream using your own logins which was a classy touch !! They offer laundry services for $10 a load USD , this was very helpful. "Located right in the town.. Close proximity to many restaurants and party spots. Cheffy is the host and he is very helpful. He recommended spots for me to visit and was very attentive whenever he was needed. You can also drive to Secret Beach from here and its about 40mins by golf cart but I recommend the drive because its very scenic and you get to see the island.. I'd definitely recommend here for the price and the location and knowing you can get assistance from Cheffy."

"Staff at Mata Rocks is exceptional, from the manager Ernesto to the bartenders and wait staff to the housekeeping staff. They helped with everything - cart rental, snorkel tours, restaurant recommendations... Room was very comfortable (except it needs reading lights for the beds.) Pool was fun and spotless, and the beach area was immaculate. Bonus points for having pickleball courts!"

"Our room was clean, but some of the common areas were a little "dusty" - probably typical for San Pedro as most streets are not paved and foot traffic drags in some dirt. Large kitchen & dining areas available - perfect for large group to gather. Swimming pool was a nice addition, however some of the lounge chairs needed repair - missing umbrellas on the pool side tables. Staff was friendly and shuttle to the airport was much appreciated. "This place was absolutely perfect for a solo traveller! The pool was nice and cold. AC worked great. A very nice restaurant attached. Central enough that’s it’s away from the hustle and bustle but walkable. I will be back!"

"The property is not kept clean. I stayed for three days and noticed bottles, and trash around the pool area and property and no one cleaned it up. Chair cushions were not properly on the chairs and also thrown as if no one cared."

"My wife and I stayed a week in April at this hotel. We loved the room. The kitchen, bathroom, balcony and living room were fantastic. The bedroom was large and we had plenty of of closet space. Everything worked as advertised. The coffee maker, microwave and fridge were perfect for our needs. The hotel was in a great location, both on the beach and dead center of town.
