Plaza Mayor in Villa de Leyva is the largest in Colombia and one of the most impressive in South America, with over 150,000 square feet. Villa de Leyva Villa de Leyva, a municipality of Boyacá that retains traces of its colonial past in its architecture. Villa de Leyva is one of the most beautiful towns in Colombia, famed for its historic importance and splendid square, recognized as a National Monument in 1954.
It’s supposed to be one of the largest “plazas” in Latin America.
