"Beautiful historic place to stay, situated in a picture postcard village. We loved staying here and found it very practical given we were in the area for a music festival. The room was very comfortable, amenities very good and the staff were extremely helpful in helping us check in early! Breakfast is made fresh for each guest when they book breakfast and the pub's setting is lovely with all the original features of the coaching inn. We stayed during some very hot days so had to have the windows...

"Registration was cursory. Certainly not rude, just “fill in your details and here’s your key.” No offer of assistance for two seniors to carry suitcases up narrow stairs. No further information offered. Room was adequate. Shower is traditional British style - in a very high narrow tub, very dangerous for seniors in my opinion. Notice in room that no outside food allowed, and may result in an additional charge. Overall good value for money, but more of a two star than a three star hotel. "

"Great little budget option in a beautiful little village. We walked into Brighton for a festival and whilst not hugely far (about 12k to Preston), there was a beast of a hill on the route - fun in itself but it was very hot! The pub looked great and the cafe had excellent pastries and cakes which we fortified ourselves with before our walk. We had our own bathroom which was a surprise (even though it was a tiny walk away) and everything was clean and tidy. Point to note - whilst there's not...

"The room was lovely. We couldn't open 2 of the windows so it was an incredibly stuffy night. There was a fan provided but opening the windows would have been a better option. A small thing really."

"The room was smaller than I imagined. The air conditioning was not working hence the room was very hot making sleeping difficult. My kids woke up several times in the night. Then in the morning, the hot water stopped working The staff were helpful and the breakfast was good."

"Room was TINY. Smelt of toilets and woken by multiple church bells at 5 am. No staff at breakfast time. Cereal and toast. Wouldn’t stay here again. Not worth the money."
