"The view at Le Cliff is beautiful, but unfortunately that was the only real highlight of our stay. The overall experience was extremely disappointing and not worth the inconvenience. The location is much harder to manage than expected. There are around 300 stairs just to reach the parking lot, and once you get there, it is still a long walk down a dangerous-feeling road to get into town unless you take a taxi every time. Coming and going felt exhausting and impractical. During our stay, we lost both power and water, which made the room uncomfortable and difficult to enjoy. The staff also felt very inattentive. We had to ask for basic things like room service, and the level of care did not match what you would expect from a hotel in such a dramatic location. Checkout was another major frustration and took well over an hour. We also saw other guests having problems, so it did not seem like an isolated issue. The restaurant was disappointing as well, which made the remote location even more inconvenient. Le Cliff has a stunning ocean view, but the service, access, facilities, restaurant, and overall experience were deeply disappointing. I would not stay here again."

"Beautiful hotel inside and out in walking distance to a beautiful beach. The resort has it’s own swimming pool and lounging area. A free breakfast buffet and free airport shuttle was nice. Wonderful staff. Spacious room. There’s a upscaled restaurant on the premises called “Envy” that serves excellent meals. I would definitely stay here again."

"Very cute hotel! The property is in great condition, the pool is great. The rooms are nice! The bathroom could’ve been a bit cleaner but for the most part everything was nice. Staff are great, we stayed for 5 nights and could’ve stayed longer. Quiet as well. "

"Firstly, upon arrival, there were no staff present to complete our check-in. We were left waiting to be addressed for 10 mins. In addition, we noticed a sign stating that there would be construction between 9am-5pm; it stated that the construction had no relation to Makara Villas. We came to find, it was in fact, the villa across from ours in the complex. This was unbeknownst to us as there was no mention of construction prior to making our booking. Next, we were guided to our Villa by Putra. Firstly, a staff member was laying on the lounge, on his phone. The cleaning was inadequate incl staining on the bed, bed base & sheets. To our disgust, there appeared to be blood stains on the headboard in addition to dirty footprints, loose hair & stains on the couch. A foul odour throughout the property due to an incredible amount of dead bugs and mould falling from the airconditioning unit onto the floor. This does not meet health and safety standards. As a result, we felt no other choice than to check-out & source alternative accomodation. Once home, We contacted Expedia attempting to rectify the matter, we had requested a full refund. Unfortunately, however, both Makara Villas and Putra the Manager, have failed to respond to any form of communication to resolve the issue. Putra claimed to have offered us an alternative room, this simply did not occur as no other villas were avail at the time. Overall, our time at Makara Villa was a waste of travel & money. Do not recommend staying."
