Fresh home cooked full english, great start to the day, owner really nice, and location brilliant, away from the man towns but inly 3 mins walk to Lake Windermere

Host fantastic. Breakfast fantastic. WiFi in room non existent. The stairs & landing could benefit from a once over with the hoover but overall a very pleasant stay in a great location for the lake.

Really great overall

We really enjoyed our stay. The room was comfortable and had everything we needed. Some of the facilities were a little dated and not squeaky clean, but overall good. The host/hotel owner was very friendly and very helpful with helping us find local activities etc. The breakfast was great, tasty food and lots of options to choose from! I would recommend this place, and I would certainly stay again.

Perfect Getaway.

A lovely guest house. We were made welcome by the owner Colin from the first moment we arrived. Very clean and cosy. A delicious breakfast. A parking place guaranteed.. Surprisingly close to Lake Windermere. Just a minutes walk.

The Host was excellent. Nice old building, decor may be a bit dated for some. Fantastic location, and excellent breakfast.

Lake District Gem.

A wonderful place to stay. Colin our host was very welcoming and was a wealth of information about the local area. An amazing breakfast alway served with a smile. A great place for a get away.

Beautiful cottage in a picturesque spot with parking. Lovely bedroom with good heating and small ensuite. Friendly host and very good breakfast. Coffee was made from a coffee bag so could be improved. The steam train station is nearby on the lake with a good cafe where you can watch the train and get an espresso.

Great location and host could be cleaner.

Lovely host, cooked breakfast and location. Comfy bed. Room lovely but needs a lick of paint. Bathroom needs a deep clean.

Pleasant stay

The stay was very pleasant, Colin the owner made us feel very welcome and was knowledgeable of the area. The room was very clean and the breakfast set you up for the day ahead. Would highly recommend and would definitely stay again in the future.

Lovely stay

Loved our short stay here. It’s a shame we were already booked elsewhere further North. Colin the owner is a really personable guy with lots of time for you and a wealth of local knowledge even giving us an easy walking route to an eatery we would never have found for ourselves. Room and bed was comfortable and breakfast was both freshly cooked and plentiful. Wouldn’t hesitate to stay again if we find we are in the area Thanks Colin

Short one night stay

We attended a friends wedding at Townhead Estate which was a 5 minute journey by taxi. Colin greeted us upon arrival and was very friendly and helpful. Full English breakfast and a selection of cereal and fruit was available for breakfast the following morning. Room was a good size.

A lovely location and very welcoming.

Amazing trip. Colin was brilliant and a wealth of knowledge about the area. The room was comfortable and the breakfast was really good. Highly recommended and would be coming back if ever in the area again.
