"I would not give this hotel a bad rating just many small things added up. You cannot reach the front desk when calling ahead. Only a service hotline that could not pass on a message to have a crib ready for me. The bathroom was dated and the AC did not work in the room. On top of that the room service was out of wine. Valet parking worked but had to circle the block 3 times to get a spot in front to unload to find out that The parking garage next door is much cheaper."

"This property is so beautiful and made me feel so comfortable as a solo traveler. I couldn't have asked for a better experience, the staff checking in were so freindly and willing to help. There were mysterious stains on the pillows and splatters of dirt on the cupboards. The dishes in the cupboards were dirty. We asked for three extra pillows and they brought us two... "The hotel is in the worst part of Portland. They have no parking unless you pay an $80 valet fee. This you have to pay since there is no parking in the streets unless you want to risk parking in an area full of junkies and thieves. The Hoxton knows this, hence the ridiculous “valet fee” plus tip! I was able to park my car in a parking garage after a half hour of stress and exhaustion from my trip. Turns out that’s EXACTLY the place they park the valeted cars you pay $80 for!! RIPOFF JOINT"
