"This hotel was very underwhelming. I've stayed at other hotels for the same price or less and have had much better experiences. This hotel is in need of an upgrade. The room wasn't as clean as I would expect. The breakfast left much to be desired. Staff wasn't rude or mean, but wasn't overly friendly either. Going forward, when we stay in the Minneapolis/st paul area I will avoid this hotel."

The parking lot is next to the building, but it's an open lot—not "secure" as their marketing claims. The marketing photos show the good parts of the hotel, and there are some. A basketball team had a few members staying at the hotel which turned into their entire team and extended family being in the pool they were not paying for. "Make sure to read breakfast menu before hand before purchasing before stay, some interesting choices that may not be for everyone! The hotel was beautiful, staff was most helpful and kind. Especially the gentleman assisting with transporting the luggage from door to room! Beautiful views of the Mississippi River from the room we stayed in. "The Saint Paul will always be my first choice if I stay in the area. It’s a very cool property with a comfortable bed, excellent amenities, and lots of history. It is really first rate. "

"Be prepared to spend $20 for parking each day at the local parking garage (more on weekends). Breakfast is bad. Photos of property are probably 10 years old. No microwave or refrigerator. Staff is super friendly and the bathrooms are spotless."
