"Instead of driving from Lisbon to Porto in one shot, we stayed overnight at the castle. WOW! Living in the US it is not uncommon to spend over $200 for a fairly plain room in a generic hotel located next to a highway. Our room cost less than that and it was in a BEAUTIFUL castle, surrounded by a forest with hiking trails, with nice gardens, and incredible living rooms and porches. I had seen mixed reviews of the dinner online... my wife and I had dinner and breakfast at the castle and the food...

"This was the highlight of our stay in Portugal. The owners of the property (Marta and Iker) are fabulous hosts. They made us feel completely at home. As both of them have experience in the restaurant trade, breakfast (which is included) and snacks were exemplary. They make their own jams/preserves and will even cook you a three course meal if you wish. They were very helpful in giving us advice as to where to visit around Viseu / Tondela and the surrounding area. I watched a World Cup game, on...

"El lugar es muy acogedor, pero la habitación esta muy pequeña, la regadera apenas cabes y para poder bañarte es incomodo, tenia tasa de hidromasaje pero no la utilizamos, las batas fueron de mucha utilidad, el desayuno muy rico y hasta la habitación lo caul fue genial y podías elegir a que hora te lo sirvieran, todo muy bien, solo los espacios muy muy redeucidos,"
