"Absolutely delightful hotel. Me and a friend booked a room each for the Hay Festival, and we couldn’t have been happier with our stay. The staff were wonderful; helpful, friendly, even showed us to our rooms. The location was great, not too far away but far enough that I’d was quiet and tranquil. The breakfast is well worth the money, as is the Old Barn pub across the road, where we ate that night. A fantastic stay, I can’t wait to return with my husband next time."

"Such a fantastic location for accessing the beautiful Brecon Beacons. We had a three night stay in an “Executive Suite”. This has plenty of room, a stand-alone shower (though no bath in our particular room) and we didn’t notice any insects. Everything worked (well except the 2nd TV in the living area but we didn’t mind so didn’t report it) even sauna and steam room at the weekend which at other hotels has been an issue. "A lovely hotel with beautiful views. Very nice restaurant with very good breakfast & dinner. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Very disappointed to find the pool out of order after our long drive, guess we should have rang ahead. Bedroom ok, bed & bedding good. "We were handsomely welcomed and looked after. The room was superb, very generously sized with an excellent bathroom. The balcony overlooking the meadows bordering the river Wye was a delight, especially as we arrived at tea time with the sun shining on the house. Very relaxing after a longish car journey. I enjoyed my classic cooked breakfast and my wife enjoyed an avacado-based poached egg. We hope to return during 2027's Hay-on-Wye Literary Festival."
