As someone new to non-hotel living, this place is definitely better than your traditional hotel. More room, with kitchen and very comfy. The place is kept up nicely. I felt it was CLEAN. The front desk is there limited hours, and sometimes can't be found during those hours. But they are helpful in a new city for us. Access is quite easy, the location is excellent near a supermarket, shops, and St. Marks sq. They provided a list of restaurants nearby and helped us reserve a place which worked out very well. There was a small washing machine in the apartment and we wanted to use it but realized that it has no dryer and we did not have time to dry it. The neighborhood was quiet, except there are a couple of party boats blasting rap in the middle of the night (1AM) going through the canals. And one local calling people "tourist" when lining up behind the supermarket. I think maybe the party boats are a problem and the locals have failed to police that. The Venice tourist tax exemption paperwork was a headache as there were website glitches, and much un-necessary time was spent on it. The front desk eventually helped us but it took a while also.
Overall it was a good experience at the apartment and we will not hesitate to go back to the apartment if we ever visit Venice again.
