"The hotel is quite dated and needs to be improved, the room was lacking ambience, the walls are bare with only one big picture of a tree stump over the bed and no other artwork and the room and halls are dark and need more lighting. The bathroom has an old feeling, there is mold on some of the tile grout particularly along the base of the tub, the bathroom walls are also bare with one knob to hang a wet towel and nowhere to hang a hand towel. The closet is dark and difficult to see the contents of the safe. The door to the bathroom is awful as it is hung like a barn door and when opened blocks the closet, I hit my wife several times coming out of the bathroom and the door ran over my toes while I was standing in front of the closet. The food was disappointing, overpriced and not of the quality or taste you would expect from a worldwide hotel. The staff was outstanding, except for the bartender was very social with the bar patrons rather than serving the patrons in the lounge area. I would recommend staying anywhere other than a the Walnut Creek Marriott."
