"What a beautiful hidden gem. We had such a wonderful stay at the Amethyst, the rooms were spacious, pool was huge, service was exceptional. We miss it already! Very easy to get Grab to travel into the city, and so safe and quiet at night - complete with little squirrels in the trees!"

"Great hotel for the price. Very clean, rooms a good size and staff very friendly. There is no restaurant but there is free toast and coffee at breakfast time. Nice coffee shop at the front of the hotel, the location is a good 30 minutes walk from old town but lots of cafe and restaurants on the way. For the price paid it was excellent."

"What's not to like about this place except that it can be noisy at times. It's near the airport and people are often staying to do tours and can be a bit loud throughout the night. The walls aren't the thickest, but there are signs that notify guests to keep quiet, because the hotel is mostly teek wood. It's very cool looking and makes for awesome photos, but sound travels a bit. If you're really picky I'd bring earplugs, or just get used to it. Great value for the price, honestly. "

"My stay at Empress Hotel was a most wonderful experience. Empress is located in a beautiful and safe city, Chiang Mai, and it's close to EVERYTHING. You can walk to many restaurants, and the major markets are all within a walking distance. The people of Chiang Mai are friendly, and the cost of living is low. The staff are so friendly and courteous. My birthday fell during my stay at Empress, and they lavished me with so many gifts! What an experience. I thank the staff for the outstanding...
