"The staff were helpful and friendly on first arriving - the room was clean and suitable - the bar staff were friendly - We ate the Carvery on Sundsy which was lovely and we also had breakfast in the morning which was also lovely - make sure to book for evening meal as its very popular "
"This hotel has an amazing garden and restaurant but the property itself is in need of some 'love'. Shower screen kept coming off the bath so bathroom flooded, lead flashing still hanging off over a year later. Clean apart from wear and tear. Such a shame because the location and the staff are good"
Old Colonial Hotel Weston-Super-Mare | Marston's Inns
8/10 Good
"The Old Colonial Hotel is conveniently sited next to the arch giving access to the promenade for the Grand Pier and Knightstone beach. Also within walking distance to town. The hotel itself could do with a bit of decoration in the bar, the bedroom was not too bad. There are a few flights of stairs to negotiate to get to the bedrooms, which was a bit of a struggle as my wife is disabled. The bathroom has a bath with a shower over, which is not a problem (unless you are disabled). A walk in shower could be useful. The bedroom was a nice size and a quite comfortable bed with views of the sea and pier.
The staff were warm and friendly. It was nice to see the open mike evening for a bit of a sing song. Overall we had a nice couple of nights stay, but I would just mention, if you are disabled, beware there are a few stairs to negotiate."
