"Extremely average given the price point. The carpet in my room was lifting up, curtains ripped, bathroom dated and clunky. Antiquated TV system from the early 2000’s. The hotel needs a full refurbishment to be brought back to its former glory!
Wouldn’t recommend at this stage."

"Great location but no reception desk.
They got my email wrong so we had no idea how to check in or where to park. Parking was expensive. Construction going on so foyer and lift a bit dirty.
Loose tap and leaky shower hose. Bed was ok but sofas weren't.
Had no milk so bought our own."

"This might be the prettiest place I ever stayed at. The scenery is spectacular. The hotel is just perfect. It's a beautiful country-house with exceptional food and the service is great. A++. I strongly recommend this. We did the horse and ATV tour and it's a must do. Fly into Wellington and rent a car to see the beautiful scenery on the 2 hr drive. I would love to return."

"The room was clean, the staff was great, the food was overpriced, and the room amenities were the worst part. The shower was poor too. The toilet didn't flush correctly either. For the price they charge per room they should be providing much more. I will not be staying here again."

"On the info it said "Park in front..." we had to park behind our rooms.
It would have been easier if there was a second step leading into the room off the footpath.
Good to have a games room, but not much variety of games. Our boys lost a coin in one (Table Ice Hockey) as it didn't work and couldn't find the table tennis balls.

"Wow!! Our stay at the Sofitel exceeded expectations! We have stayed at quite a few different ones around NZ and we have to say that the Sofitel is in a league of its own! The staff were amazing and couldn’t help us enough. We were only there for one night but we didn’t want to leave - we will be back. Absolutely worth it. Close to lampton quay too so very central."

No restaurant on site but there are options nearby.
There is even a grocery store to buy water and stuff.
We get very safe.
They give access to a well equipped gym which was amazing.
The housekeepers gave us bandaid when my daughter got hurt.

"We had room 825 which was upstairs with a spa bath. Lovely views of the beach and plenty of room.
Only complaint would be the towels were looking a bit old and Grey with some stains. Definitely need to be upgraded.
Otherwise would definitely recommend. We stayed here for an event in Wellington, easy access to trains or busses into town"
