Fortunately the hotel were eventually able to arrange a twin-bedded room by splitting a king size bed into two sections and the situation was resolved. BUT it could have spoiled our holiday had a solution not been found (the hotel was fully booked)."

"The rooms are clean but lack basics. No water in the rooms. You cannot get food after 10pm. The jacuzzi is designed to kill you. There is so much chlorine it feels like a gas chamber. Its awful. Its supposed to be relaxing but you leave crying. The sauna and steam rooms are great. The swimming is good and perfect temperature. "Lovely well run pub down on the quay side. Picturesque setting with sail boats moored on waters edge. Short walk from promenade park. The Manager & his staff were very helpful and polite. Rooms were clean with all amenities we required. Bar was well stocked run well. Food was wonderful with good service. Would recommend."

"I felt comfortable as a solo traveller. But then it was my home town for nearly 40 years. However staff fantastic. I didn't check in until quite late in the day, and was told my room would be in the 1st not grounds floor which I had asked for. But the reason was the lock on my ground floor was playing up and needed a repair. "There is much to like about this place, however, its age presents challenges for the owners in balancing the rustic qualities with modern facilities? Would I stay here again, probably not, especially in the summer. It was impossible to sleep without air-conditioning, and, bearing in mind that overnight accommodation is the primary reason for booking.
