"Beautiful home, well situated. We loved the walled patio, it was perfect for coffee and pastries in the morning and then dinner and games in the evening. Lots of space and bathrooms, the beds were comfortable and the view of Menin Gate Bridge was lovely. Benoit was great and gave us a history of the artifacts displayed in the home, helped us with our itinerary and made us feel very welcome and special. "We really enjoyed our stay in the heart of Ypres. The Menin Gate was viewed from our property and attending the Last Post ceremony just outside our door was a truly memorable experience. "Good: newly built hotel, clean, kitchen facilities (kettle, coffee maker [must bring own coffee + filters], 2 burner stovetop, microwave, fridge). Close to subway stop. Very good pricing for Lille. If not for the problems (below) would be a real bargain.
So-so: neighbourhood not interesting, fairly long walk from train station if just walking.
Bad: (1) Check-in terrible. Left waiting at outer gate after buzzing front desk to get in. Told we had done the right thing to get in. Waited...

"The check in was easy and all front desk staff spoke English. The bed, kitchen, toilet and sink were clean. The shower had some mold between the tiles but not a huge deal. The hotel is well located and easy to walk to most destinations. The front desk staff were very helpful to orient us and provided a map.
Our biggest issue was the booking process with Expedia. When we booked, we had a choice of "no extras" or choosing the breakfast for an extra charge. We did not want the breakfast, and...
