"Atmosphere was as expected. Parking was close. Planned trip for a year and all appeared great until we settled into the room and found that there was no hot water, only a single small role of toilet paper and limited to a single cup of coffee each. "Parking and check in was easy. The front desk was friendly and prompt. The room was impeccably clean. All of the linens were white. Everything seemed to be wiped down smelled fresh and the air conditioning was great. I’m actually shocked that I paid the price I did. I would’ve thought that a room like that would’ve went for more. "Our stay at the Holiday Inn in Newport News was one of the worst on our US roadtrip. We had to change rooms during our 2 day stay because of non-working door-locks. The entire facility is poorly maintained. Bedlinen are dirty, all family members had bites from bedbugs all over their bodies after our stay there. Rooms are not well cleaned, ACs are dirty and full of dust. Breakfast is average, nothing special. Cannot compare to Holiday Inn Hotels here in Europe, a house like this would have had...

"Maybe with the new name the property over time will be better. However, I stayed here with my family about 4-5 years ago and it was a different name then. The care of the overall facility has not changed much over time. The carpets in the rooms still need to be removed and replaced with new carpet or vinyl hardwoods. The beds weren’t bad and the new shower heads were the best part of my stay. The breakfast could also use an upgrade."

"This property was awful. There was blood on bedding when we got there and this property person makes you put a deposit in CASH. Don't stay here The guy is crooked and is looking to steal you money. As well he is super rude once you call him out. Also there are people screaming all night. Had to leave for the airport at 3 am and they were still going."
