Great stay. Hosts very welcoming without being overbearing. Great attention to detail in all respects. Well located for Windermere and Bowness whilst just a short distance from some excellent hill walking.

Our stay couldn’t have been better. Right from arrival, we felt relaxed and welcomed, which set the tone for the entire visit. The level of hospitality was outstanding — Rich truly made a difference and went out of his way to ensure everything was perfect. The accommodation was impeccably clean and very well cared for; it’s obvious a lot of thought and pride goes into maintaining the space. We also really appreciated the breakfast option — the quality was excellent and a great way to start the day. If you’re planning a trip to the Lake, this is without a doubt the place to stay. We’ll be returning here every time we’re in the area and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to anyone.

This was our 3rd stay at St John's Lodge and yet again it did not disappoint. Great location, great room (which was upgraded when we arrived, a welcome surprise), great breakfast and amazing service from the Hosts Rich & Ada. Having free access to the Local health club and spa is another fantastic bonus, popping in after a hike to utilise the jacuzzi is great! We couldn't ask for more from St John's Lodge, Rich and Ada are excellent hosts and couldn't do more for us. We hope to return again next year! Thanks again! Nat & Pete

Really nice hotel positioned in the middle of Windermere and Bowness. Rooms were spacious and very comfortable. Breakfast was excellent, and Ada and Rich were always very helpful

Excellent 4 night stay. Hosts extremely friendly and welcoming. Great choice of hot and cold breakfast. Hot choices ordered the day before. Over 20 options. Nice clean accommodation. We had a lovely room and a walk in shower always a bonus as I have mobility issues. Good location between Windermere and Bowness about 10-15 minutes walk each way. Bus stop across the road to Ambleside and Grasmere. Would stay again when in the area.

Fab stay at St John’s lodge and will definitely look to return. Room was clean and had everything we needed. Ada was very welcoming and helpful. The breakfast variety was fantastic and the quality of the food was very good too. Easy walk to either Windermere or Bowness too with lots of options for food and drink.

Location: Perfect for us. Almost equidistant between Bowness and Windermere village, with easy access to both Orrest Head and Brant Fell walks, and restaurants at both ends. Parking: Easy parking just outside for 3 cars, with additional 4 parking spaces near a bus shelter almost opposite of the lodge. Hosts(s): Lovely welcome by Rich who was always around when needed, yet not intrusive at all. Room: We had an upgrade to the large king room (Room 3 called "Windermere") on the ground floor. Excellent room - spacious, very clean, well furnished, easily movable TV (allowing viewing from both from the sofa and the bed), fresh milk in the small fridge, and coffee and tea making facilities. Breakfast: Lovely breakfast room, with a good choice of cooked breakfast (choices communicated the day before), fruit, cereal and juices. We enjoyed well cooked Eggs Royale every day. Overall, an excellent stay and we will be happy to return back to St John's Lodge.

What a wonderful hotel. Greated by the owner when we arrived, explained everything about the hotel, offered to help us with the local area if we didn’t know how to get around. The breakfast choice was immense and everything we had was beautifully presented and perfectly cooked. Rich and Ada were both very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. We will definitely stay here again. Location is perfect, the same distance from Bowness and Windermere and both being walkable

Wonderful 3 night stay in Windermere

Had a wonderful 3 night stay at the Saint Johns lodge We had a small double room which was very nice Very clean with nice decor The breakfast is amazing with good quality local produce Rich the owner is very helpful and nothing is too much bother I would definitely recommend this hotel
