It was very dated and the toilet was unclean. Breakfast was ok first day but second day I asked for 2 eggs, was given one, mushroom was less than the day before, and also only one tomato. (I asked for no sausage or bacon as I’m trying to lose weight). Lady that served me was friendly but they struggled as they’re ran by a couple who does the room cleans, check ins and outs and food. Preparation for breakfast too. Despite it being very close to town, and 30 mins walk to the lake, it wasn’t worth £120 a night + extra £15 per night for my dog. For this place to be recommended to others they’ll really have to work on their hygiene standards both in the room and in their dining area. I paid £150 a night(includes £15 fee for my dog) at a Coniston hotel 5 mins walk from the lake. Dinner was 2 courses and you could choose anything from the menu, and breakfast was self serve so very generous. This stay here was a last minute extension after 3 days at Coniston. I think the biggest plus for this place is the spacious and free parking. I went Valentine’s week 2026.

Very good hotel. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, and check-in was easy. They made us feel comfortable from the moment we arrived. The room was a good size with all the facilities we needed. We especially loved the bed in Room 2 where we stayed. Breakfast was good enough, no complaints there. The location is excellent, very handy for all amenities. Highly recommended. We will definitely be visiting again.

We had a lovely weekend in Windermere and this hotel was very much a part of the pleasure. We got a free upgrade to The Oscar Wilde suite which was huge and lovely. We went to their sister hotel to use the Health club facilities which was really relaxing. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Even though this was only an overnight stay before travelling to a cottage in Keswick, it turned out to be our favourite place visited in a long time. The hotel is perfectly positioned on the main road only 4 minutes away from the town centre, and 15 minutes walk to Bowness. On approaching the check in desk, we were met by Karl, who signed us in and showed us to our rooms- we had requested to have the rooms together as our son is Autistic and we weren't disappointed xx the rooms themselves were lovely and clean, spacious and had the comfiest of beds. Breakfast next morning was delicious and free!! No added charge and it certainly filled us up. This wonderful establishment is run by three members of staff who couldn't be more friendly, professional and accommodating xx We will be back and will stay longer next time xx thank you so much xx

Wonderful stay, lovely restaurants and shops within 2-5 minutes walk, breakfast hot and cold included and an easy 5 minute walk to information centre to catch your tour. Hosts were very welcoming and rooms a good size with comfortable bed. Would definitely stay here again.

Great room and service

On arriving The lady on reception was very friendly and welcoming and explained everything to us including the wifi password and breakfast serving times, she also went to check the room was ready for us as we were a little early. The room was clean and comfortable with a nice ensuite shower room with a small selection of toiletries, also tea coffee and biscuits in the room. At breakfast the same lady was busy around the dining area taking orders and serving breakfasts which were very nice. And upon leaving she wished us well on our journey.
