"If you’re looking for an ideal location across from the beach and on the main Waikiki strip Alohilani is great for that. If you see 5 star hotel and are expecting a 5 star experience with nice rooms and luxury amenities you will not find that here. The rooms are small and not well maintained. The knobs to the lights were extremely dirty to the point where I didn’t even want to touch them. The area by the backdoor, the floors, the ceilings, everything had a considerable amount of dirt/dust indicating the staff is not deep cleaning these rooms. The singular pool that exists is extremely crowded at all times and has one corner overlooking the ocean otherwise you’re looking at streets and industrial style buildings/construction. When we arrived, I’d also like to note check in took 45 mins - 1 hour due to the long line and only 2 workers at the front. Each person took at least 15-20 mins to check in which is unheard of at most hotels/resorts especially one claiming to be 5 star. I picked this place looking for a luxury vibe also close to the beach and main Waikiki nightlife but I would not stay here again. I value cleanliness and a property with luxury amenities considering the steep daily resort fee. On the plus side the view from our room was beautiful and the shops and dining close to the resort are very convenient."
