'Other route with public access', near Hackpen, Wiltshire This route is marked at the entrance off the main road as being unsuitable for motor vehicles. I've seen worse not so marked. The higher ground on the skyline is Hackpen Hill. This was a day with difficult light; hazy and flat somehow. I've tweaked the contrast and colour balance a bit with limited success.

Looking west along the byway to Winterbourne Bassett The byway is shown as another route with public access on the maps, which I think means that it is a restricted byway. It opens onto the A4361 in the direction of view.
