Old Swan & Minster Mill Hotel
8/10 Good
"The Hotel was beautiful and our room was clean and spacious. The TV was useless as there was no signal to pick up any terrestrial channels. We ate at the Swan and on the whole the food was good if a little over priced. However we were told that although we hadn’t booked breakfast we could just turn up at breakfast time and would have no problems with being fitted in. We did this on the second day , the manageress of the restaurant said we would have to wait while she assessed the situation and see if there was a table free. There clearly was as I could count 8 out of 25 tables were free? I ordered poached eggs and avocado on sourdough toast and the eggs were overcooked. If I am paying £15 for poached eggs I would expect them to be perfect. This was reflected in the bill however. All the staff were friendly"

"Certain areas of the hotel (bedrooms & corridors) were undergoing refurbishment during my stay but this didn’t impact on my visit & I would stay here again."
The Lygon Arms
10/10 Excellent
"Wonderful stay at the Lygon Arms, free and convenient parking. Ideally located right in the heart of Broadway. Bookings for dinner are recommended for both restaurants, excellent cocktails are the bar (no cocktails available at the Tavern). Staff all very friendly and welcoming. Lots of walks right from the hotel. Delicious breakfast with lots of options. The spa has very nice changing rooms and showers. Would definitely return. The two small issues we had was our room was right on the High Street (accessed through the dining room) so there was a lot of street noise in the evening with the windows open during the summer as there is no air-con. As our room was only accessible by walking through the dining room, we were told we couldn't wear the provided dressing gowns/slippers when we had to walk through in the dining room when going to the pool/spa and for a massage, so had to bring a change of clothes. I understand the policy completely, but it would have been nice to have been told this ahead of time and given the option to change rooms. When staying again we will request room off the high street and with freer access to the amenities."

"Reception quick and easy check in. Asked for extra pillow. Told running low on extra pillows but did pop one in the room. Outside court yard could do with a tidy up. Restaurant revised menu. Staff appeared new or training. Restaurant man"

"Centrally located, looking bit tired and the rooms had paper thin walls.Room needs a bit of attention. Breakfast was lovely and the pool area was nice. Would stay again for a night but probably not a weekend break:"
Hampton by Hilton Oxford

"This hotel would of got 5 stars but the bathroom smelled of cabbage especially after the door had been shut, also the basin is set in a very large piece marble which meant my top got wet anytime I used it as I had to stretch over wet marble, it does not affect tall people. Breakfast is very good."
