"Third time booking this hotel. Always lovely, clean, warm (radiators are always on before you arrive so the room is lovely and warm to get easy in). A lovely lady from concierge called me today to confirm my booking and ensure we had the details for the contactless check-in (access codes for the front door and key box) as we were due to arrive after she had left. "An old-fashioned hotel in an old building but there's nothing wrong with that - it has character, unlike a lot of modern anodyne ones. Service was exceptional: accommodating and friendly. It is located dead in the centre of the old town and is ideally placed for exploring it (and for staggering back from the pubs!). "We thoroughly enjoyed our first stay at the hotel. The room was very bright, clean and stocked with everything we needed. The pool/spa was great and not too overcrowded when we went at 4pm. The changing rooms looked brand new and kept very clean. We thoroughly enjoyed our breakfast, the buffet was delicious. The only criticism was that a breakfast menu was offered anlongside the buffet for things like eggs on toast etc. We ordered avocado and poached egg on toast and it took 35 minutes to...

"Single room for 1 night, a bit cosy but the price was unbeatable. Quiet, clean, comfy bed, good shower amenities, easy parking, polite staff, good wifi. Only improvement I can suggest is to put a darker curtain as quite a bit of light goes through during summer."
