Was able to check in early which was a bonus. Breakfast was lovely and plentiful. Reception area spacious , clean and tidy. A lot of staff on hand to help. Location slightly abit too far from the centre if walking in and out frequently. 15 mins from Centre. 22 min from station ( however bus stop outside hotel which helps) We had a room on the 4th floor which was adequate in size, and noise from other rooms and corridor minimal. Drinks prices from hotel bar very reasonable.

Upon arrival we were advised that we had received a complimentary upgrade to a suite, which was lovely as we were visiting York for our wedding anniversary. Room was lovely and clean, the bathroom was huge and very clean. Hotel bar was very nice, lots of choice for drinks, lovely seating area with a great atmosphere. We also had breakfast great choices available, help your self tea and coffee and fruit juices. Novotel York is a great base for exploring the town, about 5-10 minute walk away, you can also walk alongside the river which is lovely. Would definitely recommend and we will be staying again

Hotel needs updating all areas and cleanliness is impacted as a result. Description in Expedia indicates they have clothes washing machines which they do not. Mid trip for us so we depended on the hotel amenity description. Clothes wash machines or sending out with a timely return of laundry neither of which was available. Staff was all pleasant in our interactions.

This hotel was in a great location for walking to all of the central sights in York. It also had lovely and helpful staff. A great family room, clean and also provided with tea/coffee and water. We liked the fact that the room had a fridge. The swimming pool was nice and clean. The children's play area was a nice touch and the bar area was very stylish. Overall a really great stay and we will definitely return to this hotel again.
