Up some steep steps. Stand facing Riverside fish and chips and steps on your right. Recommended as long as you are able-bodied."

"We stayed in Buttercup cottage and it was absolutely lovely. It was much larger than we expected and was well stocked with everything we needed. It was also very well maintained and the biscuits, cake and milk were a nice welcoming touch. It was perfect for our stay, it’s tucked away in the country but only a short drive or walk to the nearest local shops / pubs. I was able to walk easily to the local convenience store in Castleton. "Everything was clean and the cottage had everything you needed for a stay. The parking was a bit tight as it was in a courtyard, but I never had any issues. Walking distance to the centre of the town where all the shops and two supermarkets are available."

"The listing said free on site parking. There wasn’t. We couldn’t get into the property and we couldn’t get in touch with anyone. The only reason we managed to get in was due to chance, a local lady stopped and mentioned a cottage agent near by that might help in which they did. The place its self was as described."

"We ended up staying one night of the three that we booked. This was primarily because the moment we arrived at the place we discovered the pets weren’t allowed anywhere beyond the ground floor and, if they were “well behaved” into the kitchen area. This accommodation can only be described as pet tolerant and not pet friendly."

"It was a lovely stay in a lovely location. A car is essential when staying here. I have one criticism. Whoever stayed previously obviously brought a dog that smelled. The odour was strong and pungent in the lounge and despite us ventilating the room it was still present when we left. Apart from that the cottage was fabulous. Thank you too for the welcome pack."
