"Areca Hotel was delightful, full of character, so much nicer than the high rise hotels we have been staying in so far on this trip. The staff were so friendly and welcoming, not only with a welcome drink, but an invitation to afternoon tea each afternoon of our stay. The room was small, but adequate and freshened every day inclcluding clean towels etc."

"A beautiful, historic facility and fantastic staff that take care of all your needs. The rooms can use updating and the A/C in our 1st room was too weak (the staff moved us into another room that had better a/c) but restaurants are a short walk away and again, the staff are great. "

"Whilst touring Malaysia I stopped off at Georgetown Penang for 3 nights I stayed at the Victoria Garden hotel. It was excellent from the minute I walked through the door. All Staff were friendly, helpful and very professional. The Hotel is modern, well furnished and immaculately clean. It is in a good location to explore Georgetown and surrounding areas. The rooms are very good and well serviced. I would definitely recommend this hotel and will stay here again on my next visit."

"The location is okay but around the property was a little “inconvenient” in that the sidewalks have large uncovered drain gaps, not the fault of the hotel but it’s a bit dangerous and can be found around some parts of the city. The staff was pleasant and tries to be helpful. The room was spacious."

But ok as I looked at breakfast and didn’t look good so went out and bought at coffee shop round corner. Room was clean and water each day. Staff friendly and held bags when arrived early and stayed later. Would have wished the staff would turn down the volume on their walkie talkie machines as each morning...
