"The hotel is extremely beautiful and completely spotless. The breakfast was superb with so much choice. Shuttles were on time and with plenty room.
The hotel is let down by some of the staff who are not super friendly and we didn’t always feel welcomed. The aircon in our room was also broken. We ordered two coffees to our room and had to pay 24 euros for the pleasure. The pool is only open in summer months. "

"Beautiful hotel, steeped in history set in an incredible central location very close to St Marks Square. Fantastic staff and service, with the property itself like a museum. The reason for the low rating is the misleading marketing of the hotel. Despite pictures on the hotels website and featured on Expedia, depicting a wonderful roof terrace overlooking the water - this is not available unless a specific suite is booked or private event organised. "Superb position on a canal with lots of local restaurants and bars. We had a wonderful room overlooking the canal. The staff were all truly excellent taking care of every aspect of the trip. It was a joy to stay at the hotel and we hope to return soon."

"The hotel is beautiful and the decor is as far from bland as you can get. You really know you’re in Venice in this hotel. The best thing about staying at this hotel is the location - very quiet but only a 3 minute walk from loads of great bars and restaurants. The Cannaregio area is so lovely and feels far away from the heaving tourist heart of Venice, even though it’s only about 25 minutes walk away. The hotel also runs a shuttle boat 2/3 times in the morning, returning early evening. €8 pp....
