"It was very good value and in a very beautiful area. The maintenance of the building was outstanding. No lift and, at 80, I found that a bit of a struggle. But will return - and breakfast was good value."

"My wife and I both agreed that the overnight stay we had there was very good, everything you could have wanted was there, the bed was lovely and the room was spot on. The next morning we went down to the restuarant and to an excellent breakfast. All in all we would have no hesitation in staying there again."

"Nice comfy room with a sea view, comfortable bed, super friendly staff, a nice pub and good breakfast in a great location. Also parking was free :) there were just minor things to improve - the door handle in the bathroom was loose as well as the temperature setting in the shower. Also internet was unstable so if you wanna stream something, its almost impossible. We had room 12 on the third floor, which we didnt mind, but consider if youre older or require accessibility :-)"

"The first room was up 4 flights of stairs which was difficult having COPD the central heating was permanently on and couldn't turn it off, it made a racket all night stopped us sleeping, they eventually moved us to a bungalow which was much better but the hot water was boiling hot and could be very dangerous for children . There was NO restaurant or bar which was advertised . it was self catering but no shop to buy food and the internet on for 4 days Not impressed and would not recommend"

"The location was great with a lovely sea view. All the staff were pleasant especially Josh who helped with bags . My only complaint is the standard of the room. It's very dated and needs TLC . Plaster falling off some of the walls. No bedside tables. Old shower curtain. Also breakfast was extra. We spoke with other people who was staying at another hotel cheaper rate with breakfast included. I wouldn't book again."

"The accommodation itself was lovely with a beautiful bathroom, the building itself needed a bit of care in places but because this is a community owned building the money is needed for other things like the rooms which have been done. I do not think this is a hotel but more a bed and breakfast as you have to pay for an evening meal in the bar/restaurant downstairs every night along with any drinks, you are unable to charge them to your room. "The Tyr Castle is a lovely old building with lots of character.Trudy is very welcoming ,and nothing was to much trouble. Food was great , cooked to Order ,piping hot on hot plates. Victor the barman and waiter was efficient and friendly.Views are spectacular , we were lucky to have a small balcony which we could sit out on. Only downside was a very small shower cubicle,but given age of property understandable. Easy parking in front of building. We had a very relaxing weeks holiday ."

"Good location in beautiful scenery not far from some walks. On a main road but it was completely silent at night. Suite was lovely and bigger than expected, with beautiful views, and a very modern bathroom with a fab shower. The bed did have a weird slope to it though which put our feet higher than our heads! Food in the pub at dinner time was expensive and average, although breakfast was plentiful and good quality. Enjoyed our stay very much. "

"The Fanny Talbot apartment no.3 is an excellent holiday stay. I would thoroughly recommend it. But if I was to be really really critical I would say that a full length mirror would be a added benefit especially for the shorter people and a wall shelf in the bathroom would definitely help. Otherwise this property is fully equipped with everything you could need."
