Hamle Hotel

Hamle Hotel

10/10 Excellent
"Decent classic Turkish breakfast with cheeses, boiled egg, tomatoes, greens, cake, watermelon. Omelette is extra, we paid for a cheese omelette and my son loved it! Moderately priced treat prepared instantly as per request! Filter coffee was rather like hot water, they need to add more coffee. Tea was wonderful. We ate by the pool, very clean and quiet. I loved my room overlooking the pool. The hotel is very conveniently located close to Azmak Creek swimming point and the pier where the daily Gökova Bay cruises depart. Their garden is lovely. We only spent one night as we were traveling to farther south but I would definitely go back! Special thanks to the lady at the reception (I missed her name), as she was very nice during our check in and she helped us store our bags after we checked out. We went to our daily Gökova Bay Cruise and after we came back, the owner lady was there and she nicely greeted us before we left. Overall, great experience at the nice property. Be prepared for not being able to find an easy parking spot if you are planning to go to Akyaka in the peak period. (July-August). The little town is packed with cars and we parked our car about 2 blocks away from the property, dragging our luggage along. No probs, we travel light!"

"Akyaka is a less well known to the Brits destination in Türkiye. From the moment we arrived at this hotel we received a warm welcome, staff were cheerful and very helpful. This is a beautiful family run hotel in stunning surroundings with pool, and food and drink service. Opposite the hotel are several restaurants on the Azmak River serving mostly fresh fish and a range of mezze. You can even eat with your feet in the river! Central Akyaka is about 15-20 mins walk away. There are beaches and plenty of shops, restaurants and bars. The beaches are very safe for children, one of them has plenty of sun loungers to hire (get there early on the weekend). Several boat trips take place from the harbour and at one end of the cove there are kite surfers. It was busy when we visited because the Turkish people were taking their summer holidays but the natural beauty of the coast and mountain backdrop has been carefully preserved and there are no high rise developments or large hotels here. Out of season I imagine it is even more wonderful. We hope to visit again!"

Baga Hotel

Baga Hotel

10/10 Excellent
"The hotel itself is nice and in a perfect location if you’re looking for peace and quiet. It’s also within walking distance of a charming town centre (about 20 minutes at a brisk pace). The rooms are on the smaller side, and the standard rooms without sea view are very dark, as they overlook a garden with a large tree blocking much of the daylight. Breakfast is good, but if you’re staying for a longer time it becomes repetitive as it’s exactly the same every day. This is also the first hotel we’ve been to where we were charged extra for eggs, sucuk, omelettes, or menemen. Coffee wasn’t included with breakfast, and no water was served either, which felt disappointing. The staff are helpful, but they often looked bored and were on their mobile phones a lot. The beach definitely needs more attention – bins weren’t emptied daily, and on several occasions we found glass and even a dead bird, with no sign that the area was being checked regularly. Perhaps this was because it was the end of the season, but basic cleanliness should be consistent all year round. Overall, the hotel is nice and has potential, but it does need some improvements to make the experience feel more polished and welcoming. "
