"Das Hotel hat eine tolle Lage, genau neben Alnwick Castle. Im Zimmer lagen Bücher mit der Geschichte des Schlosses, die man lesen konnte und sehr interessant waren. Das Frühstück war gut und reichhaltig."

"This inn was a pleasant surprise. We didn’t know what to expect with the name, but it was great. We stayed in a room for six, the beds were comfortable and the restaurant downstairs was very convenient. We were able to order dinner and bring it up to our room. Breakfast was delicious! The only negative was no Air Conditioning, and it was warm in the room. They did provide a fan and we probably would have been fine opening a window because it was cool outside, but we didn’t want bugs to...

"A thoroughly enjoyable stay. We were in room 3 which had a challenging set of stairs, no lift due to nature of the historic building. Very atmospheric place bang in the middle of the town great access on foot to all amenities. A 10 minute stroll to the Castle and the excellent car park. Breakfast was first class value. "Achtet bei der Buchung genau auf die Wahl des Zimmers. Wir hatten in unserem Zimmer kein Fenster. Dazu war das Zimmer direkt neben dem gemeinschaftsraum mit offenem Kamin (Tack Room). Das zweite Bett war leider auch sehr durchgelegen und ich habe die Federn gespührt. Der Check in ist nur von 16 bis 18 Uhr. Das Frühstück, das Anwesen an sich und die Betreiber sind Tip top. Trotz der Lage ist es sehr ruhig."

"Entrance to car park is very narrow if you have a big car. Front door closed at 10pm so would have to access from rear of property up steep stairs to fire exit and enter with fob. We were back by 9:45pm and we could not buy a drink as last orders had been called 🙁. But clean, comfortable room and central so would stay again for price."

"The hotel was being renovated. Our room was in the process of updating and was not ready to be let out. It had clean bed linen, but needed a thorough clean not just top dusting. It was understaffed with the few staff trying to do everything and failing. I could list all the faults which are the same as previous reviews. The main problem was that all the electric appliances were run from a multiplug, including the kettle, the TV and an old convector heater brought into the room as the radiators...

"Travelled with 2 puppies was worried about how things would be. Didn’t need to be worried as dog friendly rooms available & staff very accommodating. Meals served all day & a good variety to choose from. Have booked for close family to stay later in the year."
