"From the outside the hotel is starting to show its age but clearly there is refurbishment work ongoing. The public areas and rooms are spotless, well appointed and comfortable. The rooms are large and comfortable and we will use the hotel again"

"Great location, free parking and easy walk up to the small town centre and surrounding countryside. Staff were very helpful. Nice old property but a little dull sometimes and lacked character. Clean though. There were issues with water pressure, effecting showers etc. this was explained on arrival, so was not a surprise. Breakfast was unexciting and just ‘okay’ with overcooked scrambled eggs, dry bacon and a pot of beans that was more juice than beans. A comfortable stay despite the quibbles."

"Had to change from an unsuitable hotel at 23:50; staff answered & told us we’d be welcomed. Saved our sleep issue. Thank you so much! Dates bathroom but comfortable bed & good sized room. Good value! "

"Really friendly friendly staff throughout the hotel, nice selection of food for breakfast, unfortunately the food temperature was not piping hot, could do with better warmers for breakfast food selection. Dinner was very nice, would recommended Haddock and chips. The room we stayed in (131) had a smell of drains which was very unpleasant on arrival to the room."

"We were staying here because our bathroom is being renovated and will definitely stay again. The staff were so friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable with a brilliant shower that I did not have to faff around with adjusting, just turned on and it was the perfect temperature. The underfloor heating makes the room very warm although one can open the windows. In kinder weather, there are chairs outside each of the rooms to sit on and enjoy a drink or smoke, and the pub...

"Had a decent stay. Bed was not very comfortable though. Staff were polite. Food was just okay. Probably not stay again due to the fact on my day of departure, I practically had to walk over all the clean bedding and towels for the next guests because they had been placed on the floor outside my room and on the stairs that everyone uses to get to and from the rooms. Everything should have all been in a clean laundry bag."

"This is a lovely old building. The rooms are very comfortable and the bed is superb for a good nights sleep. Set just outside town, a short taxi ride in and out, it was very quiet and ample safe parking. The Dinner was very good (Belly pork) and you must try the garlic and cheese bread, it is huge like a pizza and far more than we expected. The staff are very friendly and helpful, they made our stay a memorable one. Thank you very much. I would definitely stay here again if we are in the area."
