"The staff was super helpful and friendly. The only “negative” thing I would say is that due to the design of the property with all room doors opening into the courtyard it is quite a bit noisy. People talking, dragging luggage, and housekeeping carts make more noise than you’d think when trapped in a rectangular indoor courtyard. "First of all, in the biggest picture, the room was more than comfortable it was clean and quiet, and the staff was superb. Breakfast was included and it was fine, Protein choices were good and it was well stocked. One complaint. I specifically searched for a hotel with kitchenette and a pool. I wasn't looking to do laps, but wanted to continue my rehab from recent joint replacement surgery, and was REALLY disappointed when we arrived and found the pool was under construction. "Perfect location"

"Boomtown casino offers great rooms, but you might get a folding chair, and office chair, or an oversized (more comfortable) chair. For extended stays like ours, not having the more comfortable oversized chair is an issue. The parking lot is often dirty with trash left on the ground, and cats roam the property. The front desk staff are very night, but sometimes there is a shortage of towels, washcloths, linens, which is wholly inconvenient."

"The hallway smelled like wet dog, not sure if it was the carpet or if someone had pets close by. Opposite to the convention hall is a plus, just need some more updating inside maybe. Breakfast was very good in terms of choice and area was well maintained."

"I guess I could have stayed at the Virgin Hotel Nee Orleans. Or at other snazzy places. But staying at the Pontchartrain and its storied past, I felt I was connecting with New Orleans and its history in a deeper way. I especially liked the Silver Whistle cafe, the Bayou Bar and its excellent jazz offerings, the views from the Tin Roof (named after Tennessee Williams’ “Cat on a Hot Tin Roof,” of course), and the Jack Rose restaurant. I highly recommend!"
