Pro: great central location, updated bathrooms, friendly staff.
Con: very steep steps. Our room was on the third floor, requiring climbing 71 steep steps! Also, our bed sagged in the middle, and the coffee machine didn't work on some days.
This is a hotel that should only be used as a place to sleep as the room was substandard with a bed and night table. Bathroom can only step into and step out. Shower good size but have to keep door closed or fire alarm will go off. Reception is at a different location with 42 steps up and room was in another building with another 37 steps straight up. Luggage is a challenge up and down. All places seem to have many steps in Amsterdam so it is normal we learned. Gal at reception was very polite and accommodating! Enjoyed chatting with her. Would we stay again- location was excellent, restaurant close by was excellent- probably yes with backpack only and know it is just for sleeping not hanging out in the room.
Awesome location- close to the train station.! Spacious rooms. Staff was very attentive, extremely accommodating & most helpful!
Restaurant was great too.
the location is great however very difficult to get up the stairs with your bag and not the cleanest. it does smell of smoke but the rooms with the balconies have a nice view. would recommend for only 1 night
The room I was in was on the 3rd or 4th floor near the street. It was a little loud but I overall thought the experience with the hotel was good. Its in a nice location.
My Sister & I felt very safe at the hotel and the area of the hotel.
The location is idea for visiting different museums, a convent grocery store a couple blocks away as well as the tram line to Central Station to catch trains & buses for day trips, or if our feet were sore.
As it states this is a traditional Dutch building with steep stairs, we managed the stairs with hand rails. Free wi-fi, the up graded room with balcony with a a table & chairs was nice to enjoy in the evening. We kept the balcony doors open most nights for the cool breeze, and the street noise for a solid sleep, on the nights we closed the doors, the street noise were minimal.
We had our room cleaned three times during our 8 night stay, which was enough for us, the bathroom a small European size, with a hot shower. We brought our own favorite shampoo & hair conditioner, there is a multi purpose body/hair soap in the shower and at the sink.
All the staff was nice, we saw Wahid the most in the evening on our returns back to our room, he was very pleasant to chat with and always asked how our day was.
Was only here for 2 nights at that was enough 😭. The shower was cold. Toilet was stained dirty. Windows did not shut properly. Really out dated. Looks nothing like the photos listed, was really disappointed as it was a birthday surprise.
Reception also tried to double charge us on tourist tax. So be careful! We knew we payed it on Friday then thought it was strange having to pay again!
Location was great and was alright if you were not spending alot of time in the hotel like us or staying for a short time.
I defo would not stay again tho😭
We absolutely loved our 3 night stay. It was a large clean room, which was cleaned every day that we were there, with new towels provided.
The people working on reception were really nice and the location was absolutely perfect and excellent for exploring the city!
We would stay again when coming to Amsterdam!!

The staff were nice. The hotel is a bit tired and it does look better in the photos
The location is good.
Room was basic and a wee bit tired in places but the bed was spotless clean and they changed it everyday. The balcony was a good size and the stairs you defo need to be able bodied. A great place to stay though and I would defo stay again.

Location was great in relation to the city and things to do.
Our room however was attached to a private balcony that went to the room next door to us. The guys were extremely loud all night and banging on our windows and walls and it was very loud and we did not get much sleep. Also the shower had a terrible smell if we didn’t keep the door constantly closed.
Good hotel, convenient location. Just keep in mind there are no elevators

Room was clean, staff were lovely. Steps were alot to get to room but thats part of the fun. The room was perfect for what we wanted/needed. Ideal location too, close to everything. Smoking was allowed on the balcony too which was great.
The room was clean and the toilet had everything you need but the bed was rock hard, location was good, very quite, but we had to go upstairs with the suitcase four floors,
The property is very dated and very basic , it was clean and room cleaned daily, shame there was no fridge or kettle , but very close to all attractions all in walking distance, but nice and quiet 👌

The room was comfortable and clean. Central to everywhere.
Location is perfect for just walking around and lots of locations to eat near, we stayed in the attic so the 4 flights of the steepest steps ever every night was a lot but not too bad, definitely wouldn’t book if you have knee, leg or hip issues. Rooms were clean and maintained everyday, would stay here again.
