This hotel is missing a lot of basic amenities and has serious issues caring for the guests. There are questionable practices and bad things about the hotel. We would have moved to a different hotel if it wouldn't have been so inconvenient and most likely more expensive.
The staff does not have much desire to resolve issues.
Trying to check-in a couple hours early, they said the only way was to pay for an upgrade or just wait for our room to be ready. Then a different staff member chatted with reception and got us into a room that was ready without having to pay an upgrade. Why were we waiting for our room to be ready if there were rooms available? Why did they tell us early check-in requires an upgrade if it really doesn't? It seemed very shady, trying to trick us into paying for an upgrade.
Our bed was missing sheets and the mattress pad was covered in hard, pointy balls of lint/fabric that made it very uncomfortable. They would not replace the mattress pad even though we asked.
The minibar has glass bottles, but the staff would not or could not get us a bottle opener. We asked for days for a bottle opener with nobody bringing us one, until one staff member let us borrow their personal opener. Then the cleaning crew stole that bottle opener. A free minibar is not an amenity if you cannot use it.
The building is historic so they cannot install AC. The windows could also not be opened more than a crack. The rooms are hot, stuffy, uncomfortable. We did not sleep well.
