"Room was very clean and had everything we needed. Staff were very friendly and always willing to help. Plenty of free parking on site. The restaurant attached to the hotel was excellent. Options for breakfast were plentiful. Would definitely stay there again."

"Food was great and bar was well kept. Bed was comfy so comfortable in fact I overslept! Such a good find, not overly pretentious just good quality, helpful staff and good food. Perfect for a business stop over. WiFi was also reliable."

"Everything about our stay was very good. Lovely clean room with everything we needed. Large bath with very hot water . Kettle with tea, coffee , biscuits etc , hairdryer and iron. Dinner was good and the breakfasts were freshly prepared. We enjoyed our drinks in the bar and the prices were very reasonable. Staff Lovely and friendly, will certainly think of returning. "

"Moved from the bull to the shepherds rest as an upgrade prior to arrival. Out of 4 rooms (party of 4), rooms 10 and room 4 no heating. The bull may have better but I’d avoid the shepherds rest. Also none of the TVs worked in any of the 4 rooms and Wi-Fi password not shared. A shame as the rooms were fine even if the showers are a little small. Place was clean and obviously has been invested in. "

"This is a Grand Dame of UK hotels and yes it seriously could do with an upgrade and surely that will come - along with a tripling in room rates So yes, it has a bit of a musty feel to it but I put that down to old world charm It’s the people though that make this hotel special and their clear love of this aging queen - service was excellent and their clear morale very high - full marks for trying and also saving this piece of history"

"Tried to check in after booking through Expedia only to be told that there was no booking in my name and they had no rooms available despite my booking a reference from Expedia and the money been taken from my account and which has still not been refunded to me. Very disappointed with both the Hotel and Expedia"

"The property looks great and welcoming, The staff was ok, but I think they can show more care and interest to their customers needs. You can not leave an item in the room and you come ask two hours late there's no one knows about it."

"The room was bigger than average having a double bed, very comfy, also a 2 seater sofa, and a full sized wardrobe. Bathroom had a full sized bath, which is a big plus for me. Breakfast was continental style, very nice. Good bus links to Huddersfield Town and surrounding areas. Parking was plentiful. Just had to put your reg number in the registration screen at reception. Staff were friendly and very accommodating."

"It was a little tricky to find our way to the hotel, but easy when you know how. Staff so lovely, couldn't be more helpful. Rooms clean, really comfy bed and pillows. Shower great, free Dove toiletries a bonus, and full size, not little mini ones. Free breakfast was plentiful, nice warm plates, good selection of English and continental. Great stay, will be back soon. Thanks to your fabulous staff."

"Budget hotel needed for one night for a work trip. Room was clean, if a little dated / odd in its layout (took me a little while to find the toilet! Shower was fine. Tea and coffee in the room which was also fine. Parking was plentiful. I've stayed in a lot worse for more money in the past. Breakfast being included was different. Good value for the one night I needed it for. If I needed to visit Bradford again, I'd happily stay there next time."
