"After a lovely welcome I was upgraded to a bigger bedroom which was light and airy with a really comfortable bed. I knew breakfast was in the room but there was a table and chairs and the fridge was packed with fresh milk, orange juice, yogurts and bread. There was a good choice of cereals, jams etc and there was fresh ground coffee, teabags and hot chocolate available. This is a 2 minute walk from the station and about 5 minutes into Stamford so really handy I had a meal in the restaurant on my second night which was beautifully cooked. This is a comfy, down to earth property and I would definitely stay again. Nelio the owner made my stay. He was friendly and informative and a damn good chef. The lamb was perfect and I got a jug of red wine sauce with it. Yum. We put the world to rights and I left feeling that I was a special guest not just someone occupying a room."

"We have asked a quiet room for our stay via Expedia message. Although there was no any reply before arriving we actually have been arranged one exactly what we wanted so very happy with this. The staff was also very polite and helpful."

"We had a king sized room on the second floor. Comfortable bed. Amazing views of the lake plus it was lovely to have a balcony with outside seating. It was easy to control the heating. Good self service breakfast."

"Rooms kept spotless, bedlinen and towels wonderful.Cannot fault. Only ate once in the restaurant at evening meal. Carvery bit disappointed the Turkey was lovely but veggies needed replenishing and were cold also no gravy. Perhaps we should have waited for it to be refreshed. Will know next time. It seems very popular."

"Arrived on time, only to find that Reception wasn’t near the rooms. Room was clean, heater could do with some instructions. Asked for a double bed and got 2 singles pushed together. Golf course available, good restaurant, assault course for kids. Beautiful walk around site. Static Caravans available to rent, for Holidays"

"The Talbot Hotel is a very quaint hotel. It’s location in Oundle is ideal and central. The courtyard is a great place to soak up the sun with a cold beverage. Dorotha and Aaron were a pleasure to deal with, as were all staff. Enjoyed our stay and highly recommend this location."
