![Beckhole station site/remains. View SW, to the end of the line, which had until 1865 been the upper end of a rope-worked incline section of the Grosmont - Pickering section of the 1836 Whitby & Pickering Railway - horse-worked. In 1865 the NER built a deviation from Grosmont to replace the incline, but the stub to Beckhole was retained, for goods working, also a passenger service in summer 1908-1914. Royal Whitby
Everything was perfect for our visit. Very clean, the staff were very helpful, the bar and bedrooms were lovely. Just the corridors could do with some sprucing up (although I respect they’re in the process of doing that!) and make sure to book your car parking space with them!

Britannia Grand Hotel Scarborough
Faded grandeur. Beautiful entrance and lobby and public areas. Rooms very dated and basic. Mould in shower, small room, poor and limited dated furniture. Nice staff. Probably value for what I paid. Only great issue… noise from plumbing. If rooms use their radiators and turn them up knocking sound ...
