We planned this trip because we had a great time when we stayed here a few years ago and were ready to relax/process grief. We were super disappointed this time around.
We got to the property and there was broken glass all over the ground. We had our dog with us so we were hyper vigilant that she did not step on anything throughout our stay. There were stains all over the couch and bed and the remote for the television was sticky. The toilet leaked and the towels smelled awful. The fans that were provided didn't work.
We were excited to use the bikes/canoes/bbq/pool like we previously did. The canoes/ bikes were still advertised but weren't put out for us until a bigger party arrived the last day of our trip. The bbqs were not connected/cleaned so we did it ourselves. The pool was disgusting and closed. The fireplace not lit until a big group checked in. I understand that it's the beginning of spring and things are not open/ maintained the same during winter as spring/summer but there was no mention of it anywhere and no communication given.
The last night that we were there a large family came in and were extremely loud and partied throughout the night. I get it, this was celebration of some sort but the walls are thin so we listened to it all night (despite quiet hours) and saw that the firepits and bbq areas were trashed the morning we left.
We were so disappointed this time around that I doubt we'll ever stay here again.
